Ground Moisture Barrier

Moisture under a house can cause mould and mildew inside the house, affecting health of the occupants.

Even apparently dry ground will produce about 25 kg of water vapour per day – going straight up into the house.

A solution to reduce the moisture volume is to install ground moisture barrier.

A great way to reduce moisture to reach floor is to install vapour barrier – A thick polythene shielding. It will keep moisture under your house in the ground and stop the air from getting damp.

Installing heavy duty builder’s polythene (no less than 0.25mm thick) as a groundsheet effectively reduces rising damp and can lower the moisture level in the home.

A recent study has found that on average, 250ml of water can evaporate from 1m² of ground in 24 hours.
